If you’ve been eagerly awaiting an update for Payday 3 to rekindle your interest in Starbreeze’s new heist game, your wait is over. The release notes for Payday 3 patch 1.0.1 are now available, featuring a substantial number of fixes and enhancements to the game’s quality of life. The development team states, “After some stability issues, we are now back on track with the game as it should be,” and also provides a glimpse of what we can anticipate in their upcoming updates.
Although Payday 3 offers an entertaining heist experience, as outlined in our Payday 3 review, the recent cooperative first-person shooter has faced challenges on Steam following its initial surge in sales. Many players cited initial matchmaking problems and UI issues as reasons for their disillusionment with the game. Nevertheless, Starbreeze has been diligently working to address these issues, and we hope that the Payday 3 patch notes for November 2 will mark a turning point in the game’s fortunes.
Given the anticipation for the first major update from Starbreeze and the substantial overhaul of the previous game, Payday 2, many players have been returning to the previous entry, resulting in Payday 2 surpassing Payday 3 on Steam with over ten times the number of active players just last week. With the arrival of this new update, it may finally be the right time to revisit the latest installment in the series.
The extensive list of changes includes numerous UI enhancements to enhance the game’s interface and menus, resolutions for various audio and visual bugs and glitches, and adjustments to enemies that should prevent players from being eliminated from a distance by shotgun-wielding dozers. Additionally, enemy flashbangs will consistently apply their effects.
Starbreeze points out that “For this patch, we aimed to primarily address minor issues,” but they mention that their next major update will include adjustments to both the Last Man Standing and Armor Up skills, as they are currently “overperforming.” They also state that, apart from these two skills, there are no significant nerfs to skills expected in the next patch.
Furthermore, the developer indicates that armor is currently considered the most valuable resource, surpassing ammo and health. They express their contentment with how armor operates but plan to introduce more methods for players to restore it in the game. They acknowledge that health is currently underperforming but mention that addressing this will be an incremental change over the course of the first year of updates, rather than a single sweeping update.
The Payday 3 update 1.0.1 is now available, and you can find the detailed list of patch notes on Steam for specific changes.
