The innovative collaborations involving the Global Esports Federation, Panam Sports, ODESUR, and Centro Caribe Sports promise an exciting future for esports enthusiasts, athletes, and the broader community in the Americas. Paul J. Foster, CEO of the Global Esports Federation, expressed his excitement for the future, stating, “The Pan American Esports Championships was a resounding success by every measure, with millions of fans, viewers, and spectators. Neven Ilic, President of Panam Sports, shared his optimism for the future, saying, “The success of the inaugural Pan American Esports Championships exceeded our expectations. Camilo Pérez López Moreira, President of ODESUR, highlighted the organization’s pioneering spirit, stating, “ODESUR and the Global Esports Federation set the stage for the development of esports in the region by hosting the Rosario 2022 South American Youth Games and Asunción 2022 South American Games. These events were designed to promote esports’ growth and engagement with digital communities, aligning with Recommendation 9 of the IOC’s Agenda 2020+5.”

The GEFestival, held in conjunction with #PEC23, drew an audience of 30,000 people in its initial days, including the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach. Additionally, more than 40,000 fans and spectators gathered at GEF_Arena at the National Stadium Park in Santiago to witness the thrilling three-day competition, uniting skill and passion.

One of the key highlights of #PEC23 was the ‘Fit for Life Day’ initiative by the Global Esports Federation, emphasizing the profound impact of esports on mental health, wellness, and societal inclusivity. This event, held at the National Stadium Park in Santiago, showcased GEF’s support for UNESCO’s flagship ‘Fit for Life’ program.
‘Fit for Life Day’ also welcomed over 400 schoolchildren from Santiago and featured the presence of Chilean Volleyball stars, Marco Alfonso Grimalt Krough and Esteban Grimalt Fuster, which enthralled the young audience. This event further highlighted the convergence of traditional sports and esports, underscoring shared values and synergies resulting from collaboration and partnership.
