Onimusha: Way of the Sword marks the beginning of newcomer protagonist Miyamoto Musashi’s journey through Kyoto, and now we know when that journey will begin: September 25. Plus, a demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword is available right now.
This release date was revealed in a new (and bloody) gameplay trailer that aired during today’s PlayStation State of Play, highlighting a boss fight, some sword clashes, and more we’ll experience in feudal Kyoto. In this latest trailer, we get a glimpse of the Mount Oe stage and the hulking boss who resides there, Shuten Doji.

In the demo, which is now available to download, you can experience one of the opening stages of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. “Use parries, deflects, Issen, soul absorption, and an Oni Armament to fight your way through the Kiyomizu-dera Temple stage and face Musashi’s formidable rival, Sasaki Ganryu.”
Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 25.
