Colossal Morrowind Mod Now Boasts More Quests Than Bethesda’s Game

The Morrowind Tamriel Rebuilt project remains an outstanding achievement, and the recent free expansions for Bethesda’s classic RPG have received a significant enhancement. A whole new region on the Morrowind mainland is now accessible, featuring hundreds of quests, a plethora of new NPCs, dungeons, and diverse biomes to explore.

The concept behind Morrowind’s Tamriel Rebuilt is straightforward: the original 2002 Bethesda release only covered the island of Vvardenfell and not the mainland. Consequently, a dedicated team of modders has been periodically releasing expansions since the RPG’s launch to enrich the mainland with quests, characters, landscapes, and more that align with the established lore.

I previously reported on the progress of Morrowind’s Tamriel Rebuilt mod earlier this year, specifically its seventh expansion, Andaram, and it has now been released. With the 23.10 version of Tamriel Rebuilt, you can embark on an adventure through the middle Thirr River, discovering numerous new but familiar landmarks.

This expansion introduces more than 100 quests, nine faction questlines, including those involving vampires and the Andothren Thieves Guild, 30 new dungeons, and two new biomes. There are also compelling reasons to revisit the six previous Morrowind expansions that have been integrated into the project. Furthermore, you can explore a new type of dungeon known as the Dreugh Citadel. In total, the project boasts over 600 quests, surpassing Bethesda’s original work, which includes around 490 quests, after two decades.

For enthusiasts of the rich in-game lore found in Elder Scrolls games, the Tamriel Rebuilt team has provided details on what to expect from Andaram:

“The villainous Camonna Tong controls the port town of Hlan Oek while its Hlaalu governor has other concerns. The great Temple city of Almas Thirr, initially featured in 2019’s Aanthirin release, has been expanded and updated and is now open to Imperial influence from the Fighters, Mages, and Thieves Guilds.

“Even the tranquil fishing village of Idathren holds hidden secrets. Meanwhile, the Dreugh Queen Paruddma hatches otherworldly schemes from her Citadel deep beneath the placid waters of Lake Andaram.”

The work on Morrowind by the Tamriel Rebuilt team is not yet complete, as an eighth expansion named “Grasping Fortune” is in development, focusing on the capital city of Great House Hlaalu, Narsis.

You can immediately download the latest version of Tamriel Rebuilt, which includes all the previous expansions for this extensive Morrowind mod.
