Dota 2 Roster Disbanded by Hydra Esports

The Eastern European team Hydra Esports has sadly announced the dissolution of its Dota 2 squad. This move comes as a result of the team’s inability to qualify for The International 2023, the most prestigious event in the Dota 2 competitive scene.

Hydra Esports clarified that the decision to disband the team was reached after careful consideration with the goal of making significant changes and reorganizing the roster. The organization stated, “This decision follows extensive discussions and introspection, and it aims to bring about a complete overhaul and restructuring of the team. In this new chapter of our journey, we will be seeking fresh talent to help us excel in esports.”

In their farewell message, Hydra Esports expressed gratitude to their loyal supporters and praised the professionalism displayed by their players during their tenure. They assured their fans that they would return with renewed determination, a revamped lineup, and a different strategic approach.

The disbanded Dota 2 roster of Hydra Esports included the following players:

  1. Kyial “dream`” Tayirov
  2. Vitaliy “Worick” Brezgin
  3. Aleksandr “Cloud” Zakharov
  4. Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk
  5. Siarhei “HappyDyurara” Kharonzhy

Hydra Esports entered the Dota 2 scene in May 2022 with a roster that combined experienced veterans and up-and-coming talents, featuring Dream, Worick, Cloud, Lefitan, and HappyDyurara. Their debut season was highlighted by a significant victory in the Eastern European Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) second tier, which secured their position in the highly competitive 2022-23 DPC first division.

Despite facing challenges in the first division, Hydra managed to retain their spot for the subsequent season. Although they fell short of qualifying for The International 2023, they leave behind notable accomplishments such as their triumph in the Eastern European DPC second division during their inaugural season and their persistence in the DPC first division for the 2022-23 season.

The decision to disband the Dota 2 squad seems to be driven by their difficulties in the DPC first division and their inability to secure a coveted spot at The International 2023. Nevertheless, Hydra Esports remains committed to future success, promising a comeback with a fresh roster, renewed determination, and an innovative strategy, hinting at a potential resurgence in the Dota 2 esports scene.
