And now, it’s set to expand even further with the introduction of a new expansion called King of Kings.
With a plethora of top-notch EU4 mods and an ambitious Europa Universalis 4 DLC, the game offers unparalleled depth, historical detail, and a commitment to authentic history. Paradox has shared initial details about the upcoming EU4 expansion, revealing a comprehensive list of new features and confirming the release date for Europa Universalis King of Kings.
In King of Kings, the global power shifts to non-Ottoman forces between India and the eastern Mediterranean. This expansion focuses on civilizations like Persia, Mamluk Egypt, and the later Byzantine Empire, each receiving an array of new national missions and much more. For instance, Persia is granted over 70 new national missions, tailored to its state religion, be it Sunni, Shia, or Zoroastrian. The expansion also introduces new national idea sets, government reforms, estates, and agendas for Persia.
The Byzantine Empire receives a similarly substantial update, featuring over 60 new national missions and 50 themed events. New government reforms, estate options, and a new subject type, the Pronoia, are also included. Mamluk Egypt’s enhancements are slightly smaller but significant, featuring 30 new national missions, reforms, estate privileges, and diplomatic choices allowing players to promote the Islamic pilgrimage Hajj and boost their economy by exporting grain. Players can even alter history by choosing to westernize Egypt.
Minor changes are also in store for several other nations, including Armenia, Georgia, Arabia, Yemen, Ardabil, Aq Qoyunlu, and Qara Qoyunlu. The Europa Universalis King of Kings expansion is set to launch on Monday, November 6, and will be available for $14.99 / £12.99. Preorders for King of Kings are currently open.
