As the LEC’s 13th season comes to a close, it’s time to examine the prominent figures and roster transfers making waves in the European League, along with their potential implications for the teams.
The addition of Karmine Corp to the LEC in 2024 and the raised minimum age of 18 will make this offseason quite eventful. Already, there are numerous rumors and informal agreements swirling around as teams prepare for the upcoming free agency period, scheduled to commence on November 21.
LEC 2024 – FREE AGENCY AND ROSTER CHANGES
G2 and FNC have just finished their Worlds run, which means we probably still have to wait a bit more to know whether roster changes will be made. G2, unless big surprises, will probably stick with the same roster, considering that all players are contracted for at least until 2024.
FNC, on the other hand, has Trymbi expiring this offseason so we might see some tweaks in the support role. Nothing confirmed or rumored as of right now, however. The rest of the team has a contract running until 2024, with the exception of Noah (2025).

MAD, KOI, & TH
MAD Lions have been making big headlines prior to the start of the off-season, as players were given the possibility to explore options right after the elimination from Worlds 2023, including most of the coaching staff. According to Sheep Esports, Elyoya is set to stay for another 3 years with the organization considering MAD is rumored to sign a full Spanish bot lane of Supa and Alvaro, the bot lane from Movistar Riders that competed in the latest EMEA Masters 2023 finals. Regarding the two solo lanes, it’s unclear whether they will stay or leave.
KOI have announced the end of the strategic partnership with Infinite Reality, which means ReKTGlobal, Infinite Reality’s esports organization and owners of the Rogue brand, will retain the franchise slot. With that in mind, there are increasing worries regarding the underlying roster, as mid laner Larssen didn’t extend the contract and is rumored to leave the team. Malrang and Advienne have contracts expiring this year, so there might be several changes in the lineup.
For now, Team Heretics seems to have already found a great solution for the 2024 season. According to Sheep Esports, the Spanish team will bring in Wunder, Perkz, and Kaiser as the three new players to play alongside Flakked and Jankos. This might mean we will be witnessing the reunion of 2019 G2’s top side of the map, with a new bot lane. It’s a lineup full of veterans and a rising star in Flakked. If the players were to click and deliver, TH would be an interesting team to look out for next season.

VITALITY, KCORP & TEAM BDS
After a disappointing season, Team Vitality is probably opting for a revamped lineup in 2024. Perkz already announced his departure from the team, and Kaiser is rumored to leave as well. Sheep Esports reported that Daglas should be promoted to starting jungler for the team, which means Bo might not be playing on VIT next season (his contract is also expiring soon). The same thing is true for Upset, leaving Photon the only player with a contract until 2024.
Team BDS had quite a strong season, having made it to the top 16 at Worlds and taking the spotlight during the play-in stage. Despite a good performance, it looks like the team won’t stick together for another reason: Crownie is rumored to leave the organization and Sheo has his contract expiring this month. We’ll have to wait a bit more to find out if and what changes BDS will make.
The last French organization, Karmine Corp, will also get a lot of attention. Given that their pupil Caliste cannot join the LEC due to the new age requirements, they will probably have to pick a new ADC. It’s also still unclear whether KCorp will want to promote its entire 2023 roster to the premiere league or if other players will be swapped out.
For now, all players (aside from Caliste) will have their contracts expiring this month, according to the GDC.

XL ESPORTS, SK GAMING
The last two teams left are XL Esports and SK Gaming. Based on recent rumors, SK will likely have a new jungler, Isma, which means Markoon might be leaving the team.
But aside from that, there are no rumors regarding the other players. XL extended the contract for Patrik, which means he’s almost certain to stay on the squad for 2024. LIMIT and Abbedagge have contracts expiring soon so they might be the two positions XL looks to change.
As for SK Gaming, Sertuss and Doss are the two with contracts only until the end of this year. We will have to wait for more details whether they will stay or find a new home.
