Today, Heroic dropped a bombshell statement that rocked the Counter-Strike community. According to the organization, Jabbi and Stavn purportedly pressured Heroic to oust Cadian and then revealed their intentions to join Astralis. Heroic also expressed its desire to keep Stavn and Jabbi on board, as Cadian was reportedly poised to join Team Liquid.
Naturally, the CS community erupted with reactions to Heroic’s unprecedented transparency. Well-known desk analyst in the scene, Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic, didn’t mince words when he tweeted, squarely placing the blame on Stavn and Jabbi’s shoulders, pondering if this was the most treacherous move ever.
On the other hand, YNk adopted a more diplomatic stance, acknowledging Heroic’s transparency while refraining from taking sides, all the while applauding Heroic for their openness.
As expected, fans, analysts, and broadcast talent couldn’t resist creating memes about the situation.
In the immediate term, Heroic has enlisted stand-ins from MOUZ NXT for the Roobet Cup. René “TeSeS” Madsen and Rasmus “sjuush” Beck will also be in the lineup, and the recently acquired legendary player, dupreeh, will join the team on the server.
The future for Heroic is shrouded in uncertainty. Without hearing the other side of the story, it certainly appears that Astralis has once again poached Heroic’s top talent, a tactic they’ve employed with great success in the past.
With major tournaments in CS2 on the horizon, Heroic faces crucial decisions. Will they retain two players who seemingly want to leave, or will they scout for high-impact free agents? Time is of the essence, especially considering that reported roster changes for FaZe Clan and Team Vitality have left impactful players in search of new teams.
If Heroic doesn’t act swiftly, they risk being left out of the latest round of Counter-Strike’s player swaps and acquisitions.
