Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Has an Animal Crossing-Style Island Subgame

Sega has unveiled a new trailer for “Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth,” showcasing an island subgame reminiscent of Animal Crossing.

The trailer, released on Wednesday, teases Dondoko Island as an escape from the hustle and bustle of dealing with too many street punks. According to RGG Studio chief producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto in an interview with Xbox.com, Dondoko Island is introduced during the game’s progression and operates separately from the main storyline.

Players will have the opportunity to collect resources through fishing and cleaning up debris, buy or craft furniture, and personalize their own homes on the island.

The upcoming game, formerly known as Yakuza in the western market, is scheduled for release on January 26.

Before “Infinite Wealth,” another title, “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name,” is set to launch. This spin-off sheds light on Kazuma Kiryu’s perspective after the events of “Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.” “Like a Dragon Gaiden” will be available on November 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
