A dataminer may have uncovered the title of the first expansion for Diablo 4. According to a report from Wccftech, Blizzard recently released a technical alpha build of version 2.0 for private testing. This test version was datamined by Russian YouTuber YbuBaKa, who shared detailed findings. The report indicates that the initial paid expansion for Diablo 4 will be named “Lord of Hatred” and will revolve around the demon Mephisto, who is Diablo and Bhaal’s older sibling.
The expansion is said to be set in the Kurast region from Diablo II and will introduce a new class called Spiritborn. Additionally, the expansion is expected to introduce a mercenary system with its own talent tree and possibly include Raids in the game.
The datamined information also makes reference to the potential to craft corrupt runestones. It’s worth noting that this might pertain to the game’s upcoming Season 3 content rather than the expansion.
Currently, trading in the second season of Diablo 4 has been temporarily halted due to the discovery of a duplication exploit. The community manager, Rich Bantegui, mentioned on the game’s official forum that they are actively working on a fix for this issue and will reinstate trading when it’s resolved. They also emphasized that any accounts involved in gold and item duplication exploits will face consequences as per the End User License Agreement.
