Weibo Gaming’s Xiaohu Claims One NA LoL Player at Worlds 2023 ‘Seems Like a Genius’

We are on the verge of the Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage, with the first matches scheduled for October 19. Among the teams set to compete is LPL’s Weibo Gaming, and their mid laner Xiaohu is quite impressed by one of the players they will face in their initial matchup.

According to Xiaohu, NRG’s Palafox is a formidable opponent and comes across as a highly skilled player. He expressed this opinion in an interview with Naver.com, mentioning that Weibo Gaming has already scrimmaged against NRG, giving him the opportunity to face Palafox.

In the upcoming match, the Chinese representatives are expected to be the favorites to secure a victory. Despite being LPL’s fourth seed, the league’s teams are widely considered stronger than North American and European squads, including NRG.

Nevertheless, NRG has the potential to cause a surprise or two, and there’s no better way to demonstrate their strength than by surprising Weibo during the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2023. Palafox and his team amazed North American audiences by winning the 2023 LCS Championship, earning the region’s first seed at the international tournament.

It’s worth noting that Worlds 2023 marks Palafox’s international debut, and in terms of experience, he is significantly less experienced than his lane opponent Xiaohu. Xiaohu boasts three Mid-Season Invitational titles and numerous World Championships appearances.

The Swiss Stage of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship is set to kick off on Thursday, October 19. In addition to NRG and Weibo, fans can look forward to seeing other North American and Chinese teams, including Cloud9, Team Liquid, LNG Esports, Bilibili Gaming, and the MSI 2023 champions, JD Gaming.
