Developer Tweet
As we can see here, the Goose is the big winner of the night. And this was shocking to us all, even to House House, the Australian development team behind the Goose game, who made a laughable tweet stating that “this is weird” on being the big winner of the event. They added in another tweet “This is such an incredible, surreal honour. We regrettably couldn’t make it to DICE in person, and we had a hard time recording an acceptance video because (looking at the other nominees) it was impossible to imagine actually winning. We’re blown away.”
I agree with him actually, seeing that the other contenders for the top prize this year were Remedy Entertainment’s Control, Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, ZA/UM’s Disco Elysium, and Mobius Digital Games’ Outer Wilds.
It’s worth mentioning also that all previous winners of D.I.C.E awards are big names from big companies, so this is anomaly considering House House is a small indie team.
