Techland has pledged five years of post-launch support for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the next open-world zombie game. Over the weekend, the developer made the assertion on the game’s official Twitter account. “We promise to grow the world of Dying Light 2: Stay Human for at least 5 years after launch with new tales, locations, in-game events, and all the fun stuff you enjoy,” the statement stated.
From the sounds of it then, there’ll be even more than the boasted 500 hours of content the studio previously claimed the game will have. It would clarify this claim just a day later, to say this figure included side missions, collectibles and seeing all of the game’s potential decisions and endings. The main story itself should “only” take around 20 hours.
And to its credit, it’s a claim with merit. The previous entry Dying Light launched in 2015, and was still getting updates as recently as last year. This has included expansions such as Hellraid, based on a previously-canceled Techland game in 2020. There’s also been seasonally-themed mini events such as the one this past holiday season.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human arrives on February 4. That’s on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and, via the Cloud, Nintendo Switch.
