Gamescom 2020 full recap and reveals

Gamescom 2020 was probably the most packed gaming event of the year. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, all events were canceled and companies opted for individual live streams. And as a result, every event just did not deliver enough for us.

Luckily, Gamescom 2020 in its full 4 days duration showed us A LOT. Many reveals and gameplay videos, in addition to cosplays “AKA fap materials”.

Dragon Age 4

Bioware is at it again with more news about their development journey. Let’s hope the Dragon Age series is not ruined by EA’s monopoly.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War:

It is really refreshing to see Call of Duty doing things right again. The new Black Ops Cold War trailer looks really good, with the return of our favorite characters, Hudson, Woods, and Mason. The actual game reveal was inside Call of Duty: Warzone a few days before Gamescom 2020. Some real footage of actual events surrounding the Cold War era was in the trailer. But that early reveal was deleted because China got mad over the Tiananmen Square video.

Fans are angry that Activision deleted the video to prevent the game from being banned in China. But, come on, corporates publish games to make money, not to make you happy.

Star Wars: Squadrons – Single Player

I was personally relieved to see the single player campaign. Of course it will be nothing like Jedi Fallen Order, But it is a very nice and much needed addition to the otherwise multiplayer only game.

Twelve Minutes

We all know how big names in the cast end. The actual game’s budget becomes too thin which might make it bad. However, 12 Minutes is a narrative game with little to no gameplay mechanics. So I guess it will be fine.
